Waiting on the Bridge

24 × 24 inches . . . . . acrylic on cradled birch panel, 2026

Sometimes waiting patiently is the clearest expression of love. The sunlight on the bridge and sunlight being swallowed up in the forest in the background intrigued me, Jeri was waiting for me in the sunlight, and everything behind her didn’t matter.

Like Edward Hopper said, “If I could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint.”
